After Forever

Official site:
http://www.afterforever.com/

Genre:
Symphonic Metal, Gothic Metal

Description:
I find this band really suitable for death and gothic metal fans together. It used to be a death metal band known as 'Apocalypse' before the female vocalist Floor Jansen joined in. So you guys know what u can expect, brutality, speed, intensity and machine gun bass drums warring along a female goth vocalist. All there's left to do... listen. This band is some serious shit, believe me..

Recommended songs:
After forever - My pledge of allegiance (The sealed fate)
After forever - Living Shield
After forever - Emphasis
After forever - Monolith of doubt
After forever - Equally Destructive
After forever - She is my sin (Nightwish Cover)
After forever - Beautiful Emptiness

Videos:

This song is a must try. Couldnt get a decent video of it, and also imeem is kinda slow.

Switchblade Symphony

Genre:
Gothic Rock, Darkwave, Trip-Hop

Description:
The band was disbanded in 1999. Though it's quite an old band, do not underestimate them in catching your attention. One of my favorite goth bands with some really dark and wicked compositions. If you're interested in listening to goth, I advise you to start with this band before moving on to more heavier goth bands. Their ability to create the mood of their listeners, leaving them somewhat dazed and addicted should be praised. I would say this is one of those goth bands who changed contributed to the music/compositions of our modern goth artists.
I'm not saying they invented goth or anything like that, but you'll notice a lot of their influences in modern goth rock bands.

Recommended songs:
Clown
Gutter Glitter
Dollhouse
Into the sky
-I think that this song is really experimental, you should give it a try.. but i dont assure you that you will like it even if u liked their other songs.

There are some really rare songs by this band that you should try out like:
Switchblade Symphony - Dollhouse (Razed in black mix)

Gregorian

Genre:
Gregorian Chant
-According to some, this band cannot be considered purely Gregorian Chant because of having both vocals and instruments.

Desription:
Another one of the rare bands out there that just amazes me. If you appreciate music and able to accept something different, then this band should be given a try. Gregorian plays their own songs and also popular songs by others in Gregorian chant style.
It's hard to believe sometimes when you listen to the type of songs they convert into their own.

Kurt Cobain (February 20, 1967 – April 5, 1994)

Genre:
Grunge, Alternative

Description:
The legend... Kurt Cobain of the band - Nirvana.
You can read about him all over the internet, people say he committed suicide on 1994 (Seattle, Washington). I wouldnt be quite sure about that.
I seriously think it was NOT a suicide, it was a very well planned murder.
You can refer to cobaincase.com for details.

What i heard/read is Kurt Cobain's Suicide note was a page from his diary, utilized on his murder. Meaning, he didnt write a suicide note and killed himself, instead he was killed and a page of his diary was put there? Nyway, have fun reading cobaincase.com.

Recommended songs :
Nirvana - You know you're right

-They say this was the last song of Kurt Cobain, it was released after the death of Kurt Cobain.
But i really dont know for sure, some people say the last song is "Do Re Mi", not "You know you're right"

Nirvana - Breed
Nirvana - Smells like teen spirit
Nirvana - Come as you are
Nirvana - The man who sold the world

Smells like teen spirit by Tori Amos

Tori Amos

Genre:
Alternative Rock, Piano Rock, Baroque Pop, Jazz, Experimental, Electronica
Her fan base is actually goth fans mostly. There are a lot of arguments about her music being goth or not. I personally think some of her songs have influences of goth.

Description:
Well this is one REALLY interesting singer. Her music is mostly about herself and belief. So the lyrics are just like pages of her diary. Surprisingly she's a rape survivor where she wrote about it in her song "Me and a gun".
If you wanna know more about the incident, read it here:

Recommended Songs:
Caught a light sneeze

-This song is one of her hit songs and yes, it is very hypnotic if u feel it. There are some influences of goth and the meaning of the lyrics are really vague.
The video is amazingly unique for something from 1996, makes me drunk and drown.

Smells like teen spirit (Nirvana Cover)

-A tribute to Kurt Cobain (February 20, 1967 – c. April 5, 1994).
No Kurt Cobain didnt commit suicide.. read around, u'll find out.
